As I waited for the bus to come, a girlfriend told me there is no power. Right there my mind start in a panic mode. How am I suppose to cook? How am I suppose to vacuum the cracker crumbs in my living room? How am I suppose to wash clothes so the laundry basket is empty for the weekend? How am I suppose to wash dishes? How am I suppose to take a shower and dry my hair? All these questions came rushing through that I got so overwhelmed and started to get scared but of course in my friend's face, I stayed calm.
Then the bus came. As we walked in the house, he turned the tv on, but it did not work. He turned his kindle fire on but it needed to be charged. He wanted to play in the computer but there is no internet. He asked me to bake cookies but I can't. I explained to my son the power is down and he replied, "no electricity? Man I am so bored it feels like it's the end of the world!". As innocent as his comment is, it got me to thinking, what is happening to the world today?
Isn't it funny how we can't function without electricity? I grew up in simple life, washed clothes in the river, cooked using a firewood and kids play with whatever they can find and use their imaginations, adults gather around playing cards, and whatever chore needed to be done was divided into each family member. As basic as life was, I did not think of anything not complained being bored because it was always a fascinating experience to play with other kids, get in trouble as we explore and discover.
Now, seeing myself all worried and my son bored, made me realize just spoiled we have been. I need to get back toy roots and teach my son the basics of life. I believe that as a parent, it is my responsibility to teach him just what contentment and "real" fun is all about. It's not about having all the newest gadgets and games. Just because there is no electricity does not mean it's the end of the world, we can always do somethings else. Kids can read a book, play with their toys or the entire family can play together. Other things can wait. Food? Having take outs once in a while won't hurt, right? Let's take advantage for a time like this to spend quality time with our respective families. Snuggle, tickle, and giggle or have a pillow fight. Whatever you see fit, make the time count.
Power down? Tune the fun ON!

Welcome Back To Me
Well, it's been seven months ago since my last post, welcome back to me! Yay! :)
There has been a lot of changes in my life, positive ones that is! As unprepared as I am with some of them, it's been a great journey. It's been good, if not great.
As I have said in one of my previous blogs, I lost two friends, but I gained two very special ones as well. So, it's out with the old, in with the new kind of thing. I wasn't looking, I wasn't prepared and most of all, I wasn't ready to go out there and meet new friends but I met these ladies and we clicked. I am just so glad God gave me these two because we make perfect harmony even with all our differences. We have misunderstandings, we argue but at the end of the day, we value our friendship more than our pride.
Then, I am now getting better with my couponing. I don't consider myself an expert because I still make mistakes, but I am whole lot better now. I have little stockpile going and it feels great to not pay the full amount. I became friends with the cashiers in our local CVS and Rite Aid. It's nice. Also, I've been "recruiting" my two girlfriends to coupon and they are making progress. We make trips to the store together at times, which does not feel like shopping since we goof around like little kids.
Another change is we moved back to where my life here in the US started. It's been a place with tears and all, but I want to start anew, reborn in a way in that same place building happy memories. Psychologically, it's been a great boost to my sanity. I don't have to recall of the not-so-good things and only remember the happy days.
Finally, I got my license - so clear the road- hahahaha...Not really, it's been long overdue but I have never been interested, but now with my boy in school and all his after school activities, it is time for me to learn. Now I am driving around town, still get nervous at times but my driving will fall in place eventually just as my life did.
Right now in my life, I can say I am in a better place, I am at peace and content and that is how life should be lived. I am just very happy and blessed. I can't thank Him enough. I am very grateful to Him, to my family and to the very few selected friends who stood by me.
So, yeah, I am looking forward for the holiday season. May we all have a fun, memorable time with our love ones. Thank you for reading. :)

1$ Toys in CVS
Perfect timing for this toy since my boy just lost his first tooth and he has high grades, so it's the perfect present though I wouldn't have bought it if it were of regular price.
The downside is you have to purchase the hamster separately. My son did not mind, he used his hotwheels ,trains , superheroes - just whatever he can think of to play with. So for me , it works!

After using the 1.00 MC, you can get these pantyliners for free pretty much anywhere. I got four of these last Sunday but I can't help myself using the last two coupons I have. Olay Bars (2 pack) are BOGO in Rite Aid for 2.89. Used two 2.00 coupons from the Sunday paper = 89 cents for two :))
Got four pack last Sunday and I gave two packs to the neighbor who give me their coupons. Sure it's not free but close enough :)D
